I wanted to take a moment and wish you and your family a Merry Christmas! Do you have any interesting traditions? Where are you vacationing? Be sure to look out for more from me after the holiday break, and I will let you know more about spring band events.
Heres another way to get into the Christmas spirit! Come hear some of your favorite Christmas music at Tuba Christmas this Friday, December 10, at Loeb Playhouse at 7:00pm.
Or if you want to play in Tuba Christmas you can register from 5:00-5:30pm at St. Thomas Aquinas, Newman Room, 535 (FREE for Purdue Students). The rehearsal is from 5:45 to 6:30pm. All tuba and euphonium players are welcome to play! Encouraged to play! Dress Festive and in the Holiday Spirit!
If you didn’t see me at the Macy’s Parade or the IU football game, you have one last chance to see me this year: the Lafayette Christmas Parade. I will still be sporting one of the Macy’s heads, so it is a great opportunity for pictures. The Macy’s logo is on my left side in the direction of travel. If you show up early or catch me after the parade, come get your picture with me!
I wanted to let you know that one of the crew members attached a camera to me and himself for the Macy’s Parade, and he has put together a video giving you an idea of what it is like to be me and him! Remember to post your videos and let me know what your point of view was. I know everyone would like to see it!
What a week! I hope you were able to catch us on NBC yesterday. If you didn’t or want to relive the moment, check out the video in the top post of this site. Other videos and photos I am sure are to pop up in the near future. Let me and others know of any photo albums on Facebook or Flickr or videos by posting the link. I would be interested in seeing them. Did you see the article from the Journal and Courier as well their online photo album?
I am so excited for tomorrow and I know you are, too! I just heard the band will be shown on NBC directly after the ribbon cutting at 9 am, so you may catch a glimpse of us early. Make sure to keep watching to see the band’s performance in front of the Macy’s store. They have been working diligently for the past several weeks for this 75 second show. They even marched and practiced today in the hotel ballroom!

I am! The band is leaving town this evening, and I can’t wait to see them in the big city! Make sure to watch the band march down Third Street today for Thanksgiving parade send off! They’ll start at 3:30. You are more than welcome to watch them rehearse, too. I’m sure it will be a fantastic preview of what’s to come!
